The Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and Cobh

Last weekend was pretty eventful. We had Monday off from school because of a holiday, so we decided to make the most of it. On Friday, we went the Cobh, formerly known as Queenstown, which was the last port of the Titanic before she sailed. It's a tiny, coastal city about a 25 minute train ride from Cork and it's lovely. There's a gorgeous cathedral in the city center amongst charmingly colorful buildings. Cobh is also the city where most of the Irish sailed to the US when immigrating during the potato famine, and it was off the coast of Cobh where the Lusitania was sunk during WWI, so there is a whole lot of history in this little city. We went to a museaum to learn more about the history which was really cool, and then we wandered around the city and went into the cathedral. Here are some pictures.

On Monday, we went to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, which is in Galway. We took the Paddywagon bus tour and it was so much fun. Everything you would think of when you think of Ireland we saw on this bus tour. There were some of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. I don't know what to say about it except to rave about it's beauty, so I think I'll just stop now and post pictures instead.
